RubyBows: Similarities between the Oz movies

What do you Ozians think of the movie? Even though the scenery and some of the lines are similar, did it to the 1939 film justice?

FOUND THESE AWESOME WINE GIFT BAGS AT HALLMARK TODAY. THERE WAS A PINK GLINDA ONE THAT SAID “DON’T BURST MY BUBBLE”. AND A RED ONE THAT SAID “RUBY RED”.

Dorothy Must Die Review

Just finished Dorothy Must Die and I absolutely LOVED IT! I read this while I was away at school this past week and when I came home today to all my Oz memorabilia I could not look at our beloved characters the same way. If you read this you will definitely question everything you know about these characters, especially Dorothy.

For those who are true fans of Baum’s original Oz series you will be pleased to see a lot of mentions to the original series and characters appearing! Though most of them just make minor appearances you can tell that Danielle Paige did her research on the series before writing this book. Even though it was about 450 pages I could not tear myself away from reading and the only reason I put it down was for work or school.

My favorite part would have to be that Danielle Paige took a different root on who is bad in this book because most of the time we see the ugly people (Wicked Witch of the West) being the evil characters. Instead we see the beautiful Dorothy with perfect skin, hair and wardrobe and the flawless Glinda as the bad witches.

Or maybe not….. wonderful tie in to the film as well.

I recommend you buy this book right now because I loved it, I loved it more than Gregory Maguire’s Wicked series (which wasn’t hard cause I hated those), but this is an investment you will not regret! Also there is a prequel novel about how Dorothy came to her power only available as an EBOOK but you can buy that for very cheap!
